With heavy hearts, we share the sad news of the passing of Dr. Ananda Edirisuriya, who departed from us on March 5, 2024. Dr. Edirisuriya held a special place in our department’s history as not only a former head but also as the very first head of the Department of Computer Science.
His leadership, vision, and dedication were instrumental in shaping the department into what it is today. Dr. Edirisuriya’s legacy will forever be etched in the annals of our department’s history, and his contributions to the field of computer science will continue to inspire generations to come.
