We are proud to announce that two of our Computer Science graduates were selected to present their research at the 24th International Conference on Advances in ICT for Emerging Regions (ICTER 2024).
Thisura Embuldeniya presented “Modified Discrete Wavelet Transformation to Compress DICOM Medical Images with Run-Length Encoding”, showcasing innovative techniques in medical image compression.
Induma Nadeeshani presented “A Prototype to Detect Alcohol Content in Local Toddy using an Electronic Nose”, highlighting advancements in electronic sensing and machine learning for quality control.
Both research papers were later published in the ICTER Journal:
- Modified Discrete Wavelet Transformation to Compress DICOM Medical Images with Run-Length Encoding
DOI: 10.4038/icter.v18i2.7287 - A Prototype to Detect Alcohol Content in Local Toddy using an Electronic Nose
DOI: 10.4038/icter.v18i2.7289
These outstanding works were supervised by Prof. R.G.N. Meegama.
Congratulations to Thisura and Induma for their excellent contributions and for bringing recognition to our department.
